The Techfest 07, the tenth annual festival for IIT, was taking place on the days between January 26th – 28th.

IITians had earlier contacted us through internet, and invited us to do a unique workshop of its own kind, at IIT Techfest 07.

In the Workshop, FTFM representing members as faculties were Mehul Upadhyay, Neha Chopra, Inder Baria, and me [Ekta Paneri]. Of course, I should not forget the extremely helpful support of Nikki Panjabi, Who joined us at the workshop as a conducting help.

The Workshop design and detailed schedule can be found here.. http://www.techfest.org/workshops/dfm/

The students at the workshop were from all over India. Total 150 students attended it. 80% of them probably were engineers. Which included students from other IITs, BITs pilani , NIT (National Institute of Technology), LNCT bhopal, GCET, Nirma University, MSU, DDIT, etc.

We had 4 enthusiastic and lovely batches that were selected from the Statements of Purpose they had sent in earlier. The one thing was sure about all guys and girls in those batch, those selected ones were very passionate about learning this seemingly easy but practically tough hobby, of film making.

Previously, in the whole month of January, our biggest focus was on to prepare and give those batches the best we can offer. Best material as write up, best presentations as Sessions and Best theories as lectures.

And thus, a day before the start of the workshop, at IIT on 25th January, Mehul and Nikki had reached there in spite of the traveling in-conveniences with trains that had unfortunately came on. Neha managed to reach IIT late night on 25th as well. Unfortunately, they had to wait for me to reach their next morning, considering the unavailabilities of ways of reaching IIT on 25th.

Anyhow, by and large we all were ready and looking forward to the Day 1 to meet our first 3 batches in a Auditorium session next morning.
